Pea Cage Installed







The big cage has been set up as the peas out-grew the low level net.




This makes pea picking easier as you can stand up inside the net.





There's lots of blossom on the peas......

EEK! Frost damage







Frost damage clearly visible on Early Potatoes













Fortunately only 15 plants out of 60 damaged. 

All the rest are OK!

How to plant Peas ( including sugar snaps) :-









1). Pick a plot........






2). Dig shallow trenches.......




3).  Slide the pea plants from the guttering into the trench.....
(sugar snaps on left, peas on right)





4).  Bird & slug protection : netting & pellets

Pea Netting Installed








As the Peas (Kelvedon Wonder) have grown to a reasonable height, the netting was installed today to encourage growth and support the plants















The plants look dwarfed by the tall netting, 0.9m high. 

Hopefully they should be soon climbing to the top!

Sugar Snap Peas Planted

Using the gettering has been a great success and has stopped the mice and rats eating the seeds!
